Drexel University College of Medicine – Division of Infectious Diseases & HIV Medicine

Bittenbender Construction was selected to serve as Drexel University College of Medicine’s General Contractor for construction renovations to the Third Floor of the 1427 Vine Street Building in Philadelphia, PA. The Clinical Research Center will serve as the central site for the Division’s large, cutting-edge, clinical research program. Its focus is on developing new knowledge, treatments and vaccines for HIV infection, hepatitis, and other infectious diseases.

The new Clinical Research Center has been designed and constructed to be consistent with the recently completed HIV Clinic on the Second Floor; the space includes multiple Exam 2 Rooms, lab and monitoring areas as well as supporting administrative spaces; the floor also includes a BSL2 Research Lab component. A new Mechanical Room has been designed for this floor to house the new stand-alone HVAC system for the Third Floor.
