Cornea & Neuro-Opthalmology Service Suites at Wills Eye Hospital

The Wills Eye Hospital Cornea and Neuro-Opthalmology project was an 18,000 SF phased renovation of the 9th Floor Neuro Suite and 14th Floor Cornea Suite, designed to expand clinical capacity and support advanced ophthalmic care. The renovation added new offices, exam rooms, patient lobbies, and restrooms, while upgrading finishes, lighting, and mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Additional scope included selective demolition, new automatic entrances, and rooftop unit modifications.

Through thoughtful space planning and technology upgrades, the renovated Cornea Suite now allows specialists to serve up to 10,000 additional patients annually, positioning Wills Eye Hospital to remain at the forefront of ophthalmology. The project supports the institution’s mission of advancing research, training future leaders, and delivering exceptional patient care on a local and global scale.

Completed within an active hospital environment, the work required detailed phasing, careful coordination, and constant communication with hospital staff to maintain uninterrupted operations and patient safety throughout construction.
