Bittenbender Construction served as the General Contractor for multiple city projects under the Rebuild program. Miles Mack Playground and Recreation Center located in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia was one of the program’s first parks to be revitalized.
This project involved the demolition and renovation of the existing playground. Scope of work included removal of existing paving, subbase, play equipment, safety surfacing and landscaping. Construction of the new play area features new play and fitness equipment, safety-surface site furnishing, spray ground, and landscaping. Improvements to the Recreation facility included the addition of an entry canopy, new and enlarged window openings, door replacement, roof replacement, interior upgrades, MEP upgrades, and accessibility upgrades.
