Wissahickon Trail Bridges Restoration

After over 40 years of heavy use, the trail bridges were nearing the end of their lifespan. To ensure safety, Parks & Rec closed the bridges in 2021. Our team worked with the City and the Friends of the Wissahickon to complete a total restoration and resurfacing. Work included the installation of anti-slip surfacing for the first time. This work was completed on (4) four bike bridges that serve as popular routes for commuters and recreational cyclists. This important section of the trail links Forbidden Drive with the Schuylkill River Trail along Kelly drive. It also connects Northwest Philadelphia and Center City.
