Independence Visitor Center


Bittenbender Construction currently serves as the General Contractor for one of  the most visited tourist locations in Philadelphia. The Independence Visitor  Center is undergoing renovations & adding additional space, while still being open to the public. The upgrades will improve the facilities amenities, technology, and enhance the overall visitor experience. The first phase of the renovation is the new 3 story, 5,800 square foot steel and masonry addition. Additional renovations include new public restrooms, an enlarged gift shop, increased storage space, and creation of a rooftop terrace for public gathering and private events. The current project is approximately $6 Million and fundraising for the next $3 Million renovation phase is nearly complete.
